BIO SUISSE STAMP

Bio Suisse is a private organization of Swiss organic producers whose seal represents:

• 100% organic management of the farm, including livestock
• Natural Diversity on Organic Farm
• Ban on deforestation
• Ethically correct management and feeding in livestock
• No use of pesticides or synthetic fertilizers
• Limits on Nitrogen and Phosphorus Fertilization
• Erosion prevention
• Rotation requirement with at least 20% of soil improvement crops and 12 months without the same crop
• Vegetation cover in vineyards and orchards
• Limits for Copper Use
• Pyrethroid Prohibition / Bioherbicides / Synthetic Growth Regulators
• No use of genetic engineering
• No use of unnecessary food additives such as colorings and flavorings
• Ban on air transport
• Complete traceability from consumer to producer

Bio Suisse is the owner of the trademark Bud (“sprout”). Its standards are private law guidelines and exceed the minimum organic legal requirements in essential respects (Organic Regulation EU 834/2007 or equivalent). Overseas producers who meet the required standards and who wish to supply their products to Switzerland can obtain Bio Suisse certification.

A valid organic certification equivalent to the Swiss Ordinance on Organic Agriculture (eg Council Regulation (EC) No 834/2007 or Council NOP) is the basis for certification to Bio Suisse standards abroad. In general, a buyer / importer of the products in Switzerland should be named. It will bear all the costs of Bio Suisse certification.
